The prompts that would initiate a change in the software currently on a system, either by the installation of new software or the upgrading of existing software include;
Additional Functionality – Additional functionality may be needed that is not in the existing system.
System Software is Outdated – The existing software may be outdated and a newer version may need to be installed to keep up with the advance of modern software as new software may be coded for newer operating systems and may not run in older operating systems.
New Hardware Connected – A new piece of hardware may have been connected to the current system which may need the installation of new drivers.
Update Existing Applications Software – The existing applications software may have an update available which improves the current functions.
Bugs in current Software need Correction – There may be bugs in the existing Software which need correction due as they are causing problems in the current system.
Viruses have damaged Applications and Operating System and it needs repairing – A malicious file or virus may have damaged current applications or the operating system and this damage needs repaired to fix the system.
